PROJECT „VISIT ME“ – VOLUNTEERS SUPPORTING THE ELDERLY

At Leliani, we have launched the project „Visit Me“ initiated by MAC Georgia, aimed at supporting our residents.

Once a week, specially trained volunteers visit the residential care home for the elderly and engage in both individual and group activities with the residents. The volunteers, who have completed training programmes developed by the organisation’s specialists, will be hosted by Leliani for a period of five months.

Just like the elderly residents, each young volunteer has their own individuality and character, every volunteer-resident pair is unique in its own way.

MAC Georgia ensures that volunteer work is based on core principles and values such as confidentiality, trust and empathy, freedom of choice, encouragement of personal autonomy, safety and an individualised approach.
